Welcome to The Muses Circle!

About Me: I am a 29 year old lover of books, movies, and the arts! I have a BA degree in English with a minor in Art History from Rutgers University. I'm currently juggling 2 jobs-- I teach full-time and work a couple of days a week at a movie store. For the time being I reside in South Jersey and consider myself a country girl with a big heart for animals!


 What I Enjoy Doing: Well, when I am not working, reading, or watching movies, I love to promote reading to people of all ages. Being an avid reader is not for everyone, BUT I do believe that there is a book out there for EVERYONE. Once that person finds THAT novel, it sparks a fire, the person starts talking about it, and then someone else might get inspired to pick up a book.

People that know me also understand my passion for helping kids read, especially the ones from low income areas that may have never picked up a book before. A great example is when I inspired (more like hounded lol) two of my students to read Perfect Chemistry by NY Times and USA Today's bestselling author Simone Elkeles. This led me to contact Simone and she was so touched by their stories that she felt the need to meet them! You can read about it on my blog HERE.

About My Blog: Do you know who the Muses were? They were the Greek goddesses who presided over the arts & sciences. They were believed to inspire all artists, especially poets, philosophers, and musicians. I guess that is why the name of my blog fits so perfectly. Since I am a lover of the arts and I enjoy reviewing different mediums, what better way to celebrate books and cinema then at The Muses Circle?
