Happy April, my Muses!
Even though yesterday was April Fool's Day and I have a good sense of humor, I'm not much of a prankster. So there won't be any crazy surprises on my blog today! There are not that many releases to start off the month, but the books, movies, and tv series I do mention are definitely worth checking out. Immortal City by: Scott Spear is destined to be a crowd pleaser. I won an ARC copy of the book several months ago and reviewed it, so to refresh your memory, click HERE to read my thoughts on it. I've had my eye on the somewhat controversial YA novel I Hunt Killers by: Barry Lyga. It sorta reminds me of the show Dexter. I guess I will have to read it to see if there are truly any similarities.
I also want to give everyone a heads up on the television shows I have included below. Some of these shows are either Canadian and being released in the US or are only being released in Canada. The US and Canada have the same region coding, meaning that if you buy a disc online that is from Canada, it will play in US dvd players, unlike discs from the UK, China, etc. Amazon does not just cater to US buyers; there is Amazon.ca (Canada), Amazon.uk (United Kingdom; most of these discs are in PAL format, which means unless you have a region FREE dvd/blu-ray player, these discs will NOT play in US or Canadian dvd players), etc. So, for example, Todd and the Book of Pure Evil: Season 2 is being released on dvd only in Canada. But, the "buy" link I have provided below will take you to the Amazon.ca website where you can buy it. Again, if you live in the US, the discs WILL play on your dvd player since we share the same region coding as Canada. Hmm, I think I should dedicate a post on region coding since it can get confusing. *makes a mental note*
If anyone has any questions or comments about region coding, feel free to leave me a comment and I will explain further!
Happy shopping!

Torchwood: Miracle Day (Season 4)
Starring: John Barrowman, Eve Myles, Bill Pullman
Torchwood: Miracle Day is the fourth season of the British sci-fi television series Torchwood, a spin-off from the long-running show Doctor Who. In contrast to the first three series, which were produced by the BBC, the fourth series is a British-American co-production involving the BBC's drama production house BBC Cymru Wales or BBC Worldwide and the US premium network STARZ.
The fourth season of Torchwood explores this universe: One day, nobody dies. All across the world, nobody dies. And then the next day, and the next, and the next, people keep aging -- they get hurt and sick -- but they never die. The result: a population boom, overnight. With all the extra people, resources are finite. It’s said that in four month's time, the human race will cease to be viable. But this can’t be a natural event – someone’s got to be behind it. It’s a race against time as C.I.A. agent Rex Matheson investigates a global conspiracy. The answers lie within an old, secret British institute. As Rex keeps asking “What is Torchwood?", he’s drawn into a world of adventure, and a threat to change what it means to be human, forever.

Awesome picks! Much more involved than mine at A Goddess of Literature LOL. I'll definitely have to check out the Ayn Rand documentary. I pretty much live in a cave and always miss when new things are released.
